About Katina
Katina is a dedicated world traveler, a card and board game enthusiast, and a mama of three kiddos. As a dual German-American citizen, Katina is (relatively) fluent in German and tries to visit family in Germany when she can. When she has down time, she loves spending time on the Minneapolis chain of lakes, seeing friends and family, doing yoga, and trying new restaurants.

Katina came to MCF from Grassroots Solutions, an engagement strategy firm based in Minneapolis, where she had the opportunity to work with a number of local and national foundations, partnering with them on community engagement efforts, grantmaking initiatives, policy change efforts, training, and evaluation. She received her Master's of Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota in 2011. Katina leads MCF's policy and partnerships team, which works to promotes philanthropy and charitable giving, strengthen democratic systems and civic participation, and advance climate action and community resilience. Katina organizes MCF policy and partnership efforts through a coordinated approach of lobbying, member engagement, and partner collaboration. She serves as the program lead for MCF's community foundation programming and plays a leadership role in supporting MCF’s pooled funding and intermediary grantmaking efforts.
