Midwest Independent Community Foundations Network Meeting

Join us for the fall meeting of the newly re-energized Midwest Independent Community Foundations Network! This network is meant for senior staff and board leaders at small to mid-size independent community foundations that are geographically focused.

At this meeting, we’ll spend time discussing with and learning from John Harper, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at South Central College, about changes in the external environment and their impact on scholarship funds. Significant changes in the external environment include the Minnesota legislature’s recent legislation providing free college tuition for Minnesota families making under $80,000, and the Supreme Court’s recent decision around affirmative action. We’ll also focus on relationship building, learning about Mankato’s Shared Spaces nonprofit collaborative, asking questions of one another, and lifting up topics for future meetings. Please send any burning questions or additional topics you would like to discuss at this meeting to Katina Mortensen at kmortensen@mcf.org and we will try to include them in the open discussion time.

Lunch is being organized by the Mankato Area Community Foundation. Attendees are asked to bring $15 to help cover the cost of lunch.
