MCF CEO Retreat

  • 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 3 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022
  • The Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center
  • Please plan to join your peers overnight at the Embassy Suites Minneapolis North

We’re living in a period of transformation. Community needs are changing. Employee expectations are evolving. Boards are being asked to think differently.

Today’s philanthropic leaders must meet the times. We must question everything we’ve done in the past to assess its relevance in today’s world. We must be brave enough to discard what’s broken, to lift up what works, and to acknowledge the limits of our wisdom. This is a time to rethink what it means to be risk-takers. A time to add the phrase “I don’t know” to our leadership lexicon.

On October 3 – 4, join your Minnesota Council on Foundations CEO peers for a retreat from your day-to-day activities. We’ll network in deeply meaningful ways together with retreat co-chairs Diana Anderson, President & CEO, Southwest Initiative Foundation and Kevin Walker, President & CEO, Northwest Area Foundation. We’ll build relationships through renewal. We’ll consider the big questions of these times.

By coming together, we can break the isolation and make sense together. Through small group activities and an intimate setting, we’ll have space to reflect, to become vulnerable, to be open about recent challenges, and to support mutual learning.

By the end of the retreat, you’ll have new ways to think about your leadership style and impact. You’ll feel sustained and supported by your peers – allies who are working to build a more prosperous and equitable Minnesota. And you’ll have a renewed sense of connection with other leaders in Minnesota’s philanthropic community.
