About Michelle:
Michelle loves being outside hiking and canoeing around Minnesota's lakes. You might also find her and her husband walking their corgi, Huggleberry, around the art galleries in Northeast Minneapolis. She enjoys traveling, reading, dancing to good music while crafting or cooking, and of course eating delicious food. Her family especially appreciates it when she makes her specialty, Vietnamese fried spring rolls.

Michelle joined MCF after leading advocacy and communications at the Women's Foundation of Minnesota (WFM). Prior to WFM, she founded a social enterprise that provided AI-powered tech tools to underestimated entrepreneurs and economic development organizations. She was inspired to start this venture from her work as Chief of Strategic Initiatives at Meda, a community development financial institution (CDFI) named by the U.S. Department of Commerce as the top minority business development agency in the country for three years in a row during her tenure. Before Meda, she was the Associate Director of Digital Strategy & Innovation at the American Academy of Neurology. Michelle began her career in federal government as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State and a Community Relations Specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice. In her role as President of MCF, Michelle works closely with the MCF team and Board of Directors to develop strategies and successfully execute initiatives that align with MCF's mission and vision to connect, strengthen, and mobilize the power of philanthropy to advance prosperity and equity.
