Be connected. Be inspired. Grow in a community of support.
We're guided by the African philosophy of ubuntu — meaning "I am because we are". This principle honors our multiple ways of knowing and reminds us that our growth as leaders is fundamentally connected to our relationships and community.
Together, we aim to contribute to a better world, using our collective genius — whether that's time, money, brilliance, or effort.
What We Offer
Quality Leadership Development Sessions
Four full-day, in-person gatherings throughout 2026 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Sessions are highly experiential and interactive, with thought-provoking content, ample time for reflection, small group work, and paired shares. All designed to center your experiences and support your leadership growth.
Each session is designed as a complete, standalone leadership development experience. Session topics will be announced quarterly, inviting you to attend based on your interests and availability. You'll gain value whether you attend one session or all four.
Location: Sessions rotate among member foundation spaces throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. We will share specific locations to support our learning and community in advance.
Ubuntu Circles (Optional)
Members who wish to deepen their learning can choose to form peer learning groups that meet virtually between quarterly sessions.
MCF staff facilitates the initial matching process at the start of each year for interested participants. However, you can reach out to Wally at any time during the year to be placed in an existing group.
Once matched, Ubuntu Circles are self-organized. Together, they decide their meeting frequency and format to deepen learning, process experiences, and grow leadership capacity with peer support.
Ubuntu Leadership Summit
An annual two-day immersive gathering to connect, inspire, and cultivate a culture of respect, learning, and belonging.

Cost: Free in 2026. Beginning in 2027, we will adopt a fee structure based on member feedback and program evolution.
