Learning in a Polarized Moment
Right now, EBDI commitments are being tested in increasingly public and politicized ways. Leaders are navigating tension between personal beliefs, organizational constraints, and public pressure. The pressure to perform — to appear morally aligned, ideologically consistent, and publicly unwavering — is immense. And it has real consequences. The Center for Organizational Learning provides resources and programs to learn from peers who are navigating similar complexity — not with all the answers, but with clarity about what matters.
Who Is Invited
All Minnesota Council on Foundations (MCF) members are welcome. This work belongs to all of us, whether you're in grantmaking, operations, leadership, communications, finance, board service, or any other foundation role.
What We Offer
Virtual Learning Programs
We offer two types of sessions, held virtually on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. We're starting with virtual gatherings to maximize accessibility and ensure board participation.
Here's how each session type supports your learning:
Foundation Spotlight (60 minutes): Learn from diverse philanthropy practitioners such as family and community foundations sharing their EBDI journeys — the successes, setbacks, and practical lessons learned.
Learning Across Sectors (90 minutes): Hear from leaders across philanthropy, government, corporate, education, and nonprofits who share diverse perspectives on EBDI work to deepen our understanding and expand our options for action.
Both session types include small group breakouts for peer support in applying what you learn to your specific role and organizational context.
Living Resource Library
Supporting the Center's learning sessions with on-demand access to field-tested frameworks, foundation case studies, and practical tools from Minnesota peers and national leaders in philanthropy. Whether you're beginning your EBDI journey or deepening existing practices, this continuously updated collection supports your work at every stage.
