MCF and Our Members Help Deliver $2.5 Million in Support of Vaccine Efforts

Over the last four months, MCF and its members have worked with the Office of Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, and the Minnesota Department of Health, to deliver nearly $2.5 million in resources to support the state’s vaccine efforts. In April, a group of foundations provided support to nonprofits throughout the state doing vaccine outreach to targeted communities, including: rural; LGBTQ; people with disabilities; communities of color; and Native communities. In July and August, Minnesota foundations provided additional resources for vaccine outreach to Minnesotans experiencing homelessness, and vaccine incentives to African American, Latinx, and immigrant populations. MCF is pleased to build bridges between philanthropy and government, serving as an intermediary, and a place for pooled funds that meet timely, critical needs. Thanks to Minnesota philanthropy’s responsiveness and generosity as we collaborate with government to save lives.
