This first-of-its-kind convening in Minnesota aims to connect, inspire, and cultivate a culture of respect, learning, and belonging. It is guided by the African philosophy of ubuntu—meaning “I am (only) because we are.”
The 2026 Ubuntu Leadership Summit offers a 2-day immersive gathering on Minnesota’s North Shore focused on experiential learning, building our community of practice, and our Ubuntu Circle model for peer support.
Join us July 23-24, 2026 at Lake Superior College in Duluth, with an optional pre-summit gathering the evening of July 22.
Ubuntu honors our multiple ways of knowing and reminds us that our growth as leaders is fundamentally connected to our relationships and community.

Free in 2026 for MCF members.
Non-member grantmakers and foundations: $500.
What's Included
All session materials, meals during program hours (breakfast, lunch, breaks) and our optional Ubuntu circle dinner.
What's Not Included
