Session Overview

Why does it feel so hard to see clearly right now? In our opening session, we’ll explore what clouds our discernment—internally and systemically. We’ll draw from neuroscience to understand how stress and urgency hijack perception, and reflect on the broader systems—including media saturation, narrative distortion, and cultural performance pressure—that make it harder to notice what’s true. Participants will engage with a yogic framework and grounding practices that support your presence, clarity, and leadership rooted in discernment.

What You’ll Gain

Participants will leave this series with:

  • Tools and frameworks for slowing down and practicing discernment under pressure
  • A deeper understanding of how equity work becomes constrained—and how to return to it with integrity
  • Language for naming and navigating internal tensions and binary thinking
  • A guided imaginative experience that supports vision-centered leadership
  • Opportunities to build connection, courage, and clarity among peer leaders in philanthropy

Optional Pre-Session Reflection Questions

  • Where do I feel stuck, foggy, or reactive in my leadership right now?
  • What feels unspeakable or constrained in how I or my organization holds DEI?
  • What might I be longing to say, shift, or imagine—but haven’t yet made space to explore?
