Join MCF for a discussion about the ripple effects of the June 2023 United States Supreme Court decision on Affirmative Action. During this briefing, we will focus on ongoing questions the decision raises for the field of philanthropy. Funders across the nation are watching litigation posed against the Georgia-based Fearless Fund. Litigants claim the Fearless Fund’s focus on grantmaking to Black women is a violation of the Civil Rights Act. Learn more about the lawsuit against the Fearless Fund in advance of our conversation.

Our presenters will refresh our thinking about the recent Supreme Court decision, offer additional historical and legal context, provide insights about the case against the Fearless Fund, and contextualize these themes as they relate to foundation strategies and DEI commitments. They will share considerations and legal insights about issues related to grantmaking, employment, data collection and the impact on philanthropy’s nonprofit partners.
