Join MCF and We Are Still Here Minnesota (WASH-MN) as we host a briefing focused on building partnerships with Minnesota’s Tribal communities and Native nations. As described by Native Governance Center, “Developing meaningful partnerships shows respect for sovereignty and elected leaders, and affirms Tribal sovereignty.” As more of Minnesota’s philanthropic organizations seek to support Native communities, it’s important to intentionally create a supportive groundwork and positive connection.

Presenters

Our briefing will include conversation with the following leaders:

Amber Annis, Ph.D., is a citizen of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and serves as the Executive Director of Native Governance Center. Previously, Dr. Annis was the Associate Vice President of Tribal Nation Relations and Native American Initiatives at the Minnesota Historical Society.

Rebecca Crooks-Stratton, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, serves as Secretary/Treasurer at Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and serves on the board of the National Congress of American Indians. Previously, Rebecca served as Program Director of the Native Governance Center.
