Job Description

Ballinger | Leafblad is honored to partner with the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota (CCF) in the search for its next Associate Vice President of Philanthropic Services. Founded in 1992, CCF serves at the intersection of faith and philanthropy, helping donors support the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Catholic community through thoughtful stewardship, charitable planning, and long-term partnerships. Today, the organization stewards more than $840 million in charitable assets, manages over 1,300 funds, and has granted more than $45 million in support of Catholic ministries and initiatives.

This newly created leadership position reflects CCF's continued growth and increasing engagement with complex charitable planning. Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy & Stewardship, the Associate Vice President of Philanthropic Services will manage a portfolio of significant donor relationships, oversee two Philanthropic Advisors, and serve as a trusted advisor to donors and professional partners navigating complex charitable strategies. The role combines deep relationship management with technical expertise in planned giving, estate planning, charitable vehicles, and complex gift structures. This leader will play a central role in helping donors align their charitable aspirations, financial goals, and legacy plans while strengthening CCF's partnerships with attorneys, wealth managers, accountants, and other advisors.

Desired Qualification, Skills, Knowledge & Technical Expertise

  • 7+ years of experience in estate planning, charitable planning, wealth management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, complex financial structures, and donor portfolio management.
  • Background in law (JD), estate planning, or a similarly technical discipline strongly preferred.
  • Appreciation for and ability to work within a Catholic, values-based organization, including sensitivity to faith-aligned donor intent and institutional context.
  • Strong understanding of planned giving vehicles and charitable fund structures.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and assess implications for charitable gifts.
  • Familiarity with tax considerations and financial strategies related to philanthropy.
