2018 Nominations for Board of Directors

Minnesota Council on Foundations is committed to building a board that is representative of philanthropy in Minnesota. It also believes that an organization's governance is enhanced when people with diverse points of view and backgrounds, reflective of the diverse communities they serve, work together.

For 2017 Nominations
  1. Two director positions will be open for a first, three-year term.
  2. Terms begin in March 2018 at the MCF Annual Meeting of Members. 
  3. Nominees must be a trustee, staff member, chair or member of an official committee associated with an MCF member organization. 
  4. Individuals may self-nominate. Please consider nominating yourself, keeping in mind the leadership you might like to contribute to the field of philanthropy.
  5. We are seeking candidates from all grantmaker types - family, independent, community/public and corporate.
  6. To ensure a representative, diverse mix of persons on the board, we will give highest priority to nominees who represent these characteristics: 
    1. Family foundations 
    2. Individuals located in Greater Minnesota 
    3. Next-generation trustees/directors or staff members 
    4. Male candidates.
  7. In addition to the characteristics mentioned above, we seek to continue to build board leadership by adding directors who possess one or more of the following skills or expertise:
    1. Future focused
    2. Public policy/government relations.
Nominations Deadline:
Please submit a nomination online no later than Friday, September 1, 2017. Nominees will be contacted by early October 2017.
