A Quick Primer on the Census

The Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census catapulted the conversation about the census into the news.  Recent coverage by National public radio about the lawsuit challenging the administration’s action and the history of the census provide a good, quick overview of the purpose for the census and current challenges to achieving an accurate count.  The Washington Post also summarized the important uses of census information.
