The Northland Foundation’s Board of Trustees announces three new members, as well as the 2016-2017 Executive Committee.
New Trustees
Cindy Anderson Bina, Ely, is a Counselor at Vermilion Community College. She has a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northern Illinois and also currently serves on the Ely Community Health Center and Young Life boards.
Lisa Kruse, McGregor, is the Community Education Director for McGregor Schools. She is also the Aitkin County Early Childhood Initiative Coordinator and a member of the PreK to Grade 3 Transition Team.
Peter McDermott, Grand Rapids, is President and CEO of Minnesota Diversified Industries (MDI), a not-for-profit social enterprise serving people with disabilities by offering inclusive employment opportunities and services.

Chair: Steve Downing, Consultant, Northern Community Radio (retired); 1st Vice Chair: Trent Janezich, Executive Director, Advanced – Northeast Higher Education District; 2nd Vice Chair: Nevada Littlewolf, Executive Director, Rural American Indigenous Leadership; Secretary: Jason Hollinday, Director of Planning, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa; Treasurer: Tom Rider, Co-owner, Lutsen Mountains Ski and Summer Resort. Diane Rauschenfels will remain on the Board for a 10th year as Immediate Past Chair.
Outgoing Trustee
Ed Zabinski, Grand Rapids State Bank, completed his ninth and final year of service on the Board.
