New Role, New Adventure

By Alfonso T. Wenker

During the last four years I have had the pleasure of digging into some exciting work with MCF’s members. Together we launched the Ron McKinley Philanthropy Fellowship, we asked ourselves hard questions about racial equity and pushed our work to address systems change, we designed a new Strategic Framework for MCF and we began to explore what it looks like when a membership association starts to offer consulting services to its members.

It’s time for a new role.

MCF’s consulting function has grown and I am excited to share that this means a shift in role for me. On November 1 I will step down from my role as vice president and step into a part-time, contracted role to continue to build MCF’s capacity and infrastructure to offer training, facilitation and strategy development services to Minnesota’s philanthropic community. I will also manage our annual conference. (Save the Date! March 15 – 16, 2018 at Radisson Blu)

It’s time for a new adventure.

In addition to my work with MCF I will be working with other clients invested in creating more prosperous and equitable communities. While I won’t be fulltime at MCF I know we will remain close partners in our work.

Thank you MCF members for your work together with me and our team these last four years. I can’t wait to dig into this new role and I can’t wait to see what this new adventure brings.

MCF will initiate the process for hiring a new staff person this fall.  If you are interested in a staff leadership role at MCF or would like to receive updates during the search, please sign up here.

I want to say Thank You MCF Members and celebrate the last four years with all of you. Come to the MCF office Monday, October 30, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. to toast a new role and new adventure.
