Nate Dorr Promoted to Northwest Minnesota Foundation Vice President for Advocacy

Friday, August 16, 2019

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation (NMF) has announced that Nate Dorr has been promoted to the position of Vice President for Advocacy. In this role he will be expanding his responsibilities to advocate for the issues and solutions for the 12-county region that the foundation serves. He will continue to lead evaluation, assessment, and learning related to NMF’s impact and fulfilling their purpose to build better lives. Dorr will also lead NMF’s upcoming work in further fulfilling their commitment to equity for all in the region.

“This new position represents our commitment to champion rural issues that affect us all,” said Dorr, “I’m most excited about bringing a rural voice to statewide networks. Too often we see rules and regulations that do not translate very well from metro to rural communities.”

Dorr has been working at NMF since 2012. Before he was hired as a full-time staff member, he worked as an intern in 2001. He has served in a number of different roles in the organization over the years, most recently as a Senior Program Officer. In that role he focused most of his time on managing grants and coordinating the nonprofit training programs.

“Nate is extremely well respected throughout the region and the state. Having Nate in this new role will better position the foundation to expand relationships and to have an even greater impact on the challenge facing the region’s rural communities,” said NMF President and CEO, Karen White.
