We’re excited to open the MCF Board recruitment process for the coming year. The application period will run from May 5 through June 5, 2026, and we warmly invite MCF members to consider this opportunity to contribute your voice and leadership to our community.

Why join the MCF Board? Here are a few reasons to consider:

Influence the field of philanthropy.
As a board member, you’ll help shape organizational strategy and advance MCF’s mission to bridge the philanthropic sector with the communities it serves.

Strengthen your governance skills.
Board service isn’t just for CEOs and Executive Directors. Bring the expertise you already have — and grow it alongside peers — while contributing to an organization you know and care about.

Connect with your peer community.
Serving on the MCF Board is both a meaningful responsibility and a rewarding experience. You’ll build lasting relationships and collaborate with fellow members and staff to lead important, impactful work.

We are especially seeking candidates who can help broaden the perspectives and expertise represented on the board. This year’s recruitment priorities include:

Skills

  • Legal
  • Public Policy

Membership Representation

  • Corporate members
  • Greater Minnesota
  • New voices to philanthropy

Identity

  • BIPOC
  • LGBTQIA+

We are especially interested in people who identify with the priorities underlined above. We have both found great value in being part of MCF’s leadership through committee and board service. Each year, we look forward to welcoming new board and committee members and partnering together on this important work. We hope you will consider joining us. This opportunity is open to all MCF members!
