About the Learning Series

The 2021 Learning Series will challenge and expand your thinking around three pressing issues philanthropy faces in this critical moment. By the end of each month, you’ll shift the way you think about philanthropy, build new relationships and acquire timely tools and skills to increase your impact.

Monthly Themes

  • JANUARY Systems in Distress: Explore philanthropy’s role in building equitable public systems such as housing, employment, health, education, criminal justice and the environment.
  • FEBRUARY Becoming an Anti-Racist Sector: Explore the individual, organizational and systems changes needed to transform philanthropy into an anti-racist sector.
  • MARCH The Long View of Civil Society: Take a deeper look at democracy, civic engagement and civil discourse.

Content for each theme will be delivered throughout the month.

Audience and Reach

We expect between 150 - 200 foundation or philanthropic attendees (trustees, employees and sector advocates) representing all organizational roles and responsibilities.

Marketing activities will reach all 1,700+ MCF individual members, including foundation staff and trustees. Approximately 1,200 non-member Minnesota foundation and corporate giving program representatives will also receive promotional materials.
