MCF Helping to Jump Start the State for the 2020 Census

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Minnesota is considered to be getting a jump on the 2020 Census. As reported by MPR and in an extended podcast interview this is due in large part to leadership of MCF and its members. The Associated Press reported on the state’s efforts to prepare for the Census, made possible by state funding secure last year through MCF lobbying. The good news is countered by proposals likely to discourage participation in the census, such as adding a citizenship question. This Star Tribune editorial picks up on MCF’s opposition to such efforts to politicize the Census.  Join other MCF members working to prepare Minnesota for the 2020 Census by joining the MCF-convened Minnesota Census Mobilization Partnership.
