Judi joined MACP in April 2012 as a program officer in the Arts Education program within the organization’s Arts & Cultures domain. In her time at MACP, Judi developed a strategic portfolio of grantee and community partners to advance the goals of the Teacher Development Arts program, which has focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of teachers through a lens of “in and through the arts.” She was also instrumental in early development of the Teachers domain, guided by our donor’s deep respect for the teaching profession.
Prior to joining MACP, Judi spent more than 20 years with education and arts nonprofits. She served as a Museum Educator at the Weisman Art Museum and instructor in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. She taught in K-12 art and language classrooms and community settings, along with administering educational programming and resources. In 2010, Judi was awarded a Bush Foundation Leadership Fellowship in support of her dissertation on literacies, and she is a Teacher Consultant with the Minnesota Writing Project.

Judi has a bachelor’s degree in art history and anthropology from Kent State University, K-12 teacher certification in art education, and a master’s degree in visual studies from the University of Texas-Austin, along with a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction with a minor in rhetorical studies from the University of Minnesota.
