H.B. Fuller Grants $203,000 in Support of STEM Education and Youth Leadership Development for Twin Cities Youth

H.B. Fuller has selected 18 Twin Cities nonprofits and five local public school districts to receive a total of $203,000 in grants supporting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and youth leadership development programming.

Twin Cities STEM and youth leadership development grants help young people grow into productive, successful adults. These grants are reviewed by Foundation staff and a committee of H.B. Fuller employees. In 2016, employees selected the following organizations to receive $150,000 in funding:

STEM Education:

  • Como Friends
  • Minnesota Zoo Foundation
  • Spark Youth
  • Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation
  • YWCA of Minneapolis
  • Friends of the Mississippi River
  • Minnesota Professional Engineers Foundation
  • National Inventors Hall of Fame, Inc.
  • PACER Center, Inc.
  • Somali American Parent Association

Youth Leadership Development:

  • Casa de Esperanza
  • Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Foundation
  • Urban Boatbuilders
  • Voyageur Outward Bound School
  • Women’s Initiative for Self Empowerment
  • Amherst H. Wilder Foundation
  • Augsburg College
  • Jefferson Awards Foundation

The H.B. Fuller STEM Mini Grant program supports middle schools in the districts where H.B. Fuller employees work and live. Middle school science and math teachers apply for grants that teach hands-on STEM concepts in the classroom. In 2015, $53,000 was donated to the following middle schools, located in five school districts:

  • Centennial Middle School
  • Edgewood Middle School
  • Highview Middle School
  • John Glenn Middle School
  • Maplewood Middle School
  • Skyview Middle School
  • Central Middle School
  • Lake Middle School

Funding is also awarded throughout the year in five additional U.S. communities with H.B. Fuller manufacturing facilities, and in the international regions where the company operates.
