Elizabeth Coco Hired by The Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota as VISTA Program Manager

Monday, April 4, 2016

The Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota is pleased to announce the hiring of Elizabeth Coco as the Foundation’s permanent VISTA Program Manager.  Ms. Coco – who generally goes by “Coco” – was hired in November 2015 as the Interim VISTA Program Manager to complete the Foundation’s 3-year federal grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service.  In January, the Foundation received a second 3-year federal grant for its VISTA program necessitating the hire of a permanent person. Ms. Coco assumes this permanent position effective immediately.

“Coco came to us with outstanding experience and enthusiasm for national service,” said Patrick Troska, Executive Director.  “Over the past five months she has shown a keen ability to manage the program while developing a strong vision for the program’s future.  That coupled with her interest and expanding experience in philanthropy make her a perfect addition to our team.”

Coco comes to us from the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits where she helped design and implement their successful VISTA program.  Prior to that position, Coco served as a VISTA through the City of Saint Paul, and as an AmeriCorps member at Bethune Elementary School in Minneapolis.

Coco brings to this work a great passion for building a more diverse, inclusive and equitable nonprofit sector as a means to advance these same qualities in society at large.  She has also proven her ability to recruit diverse candidates into National Service, and to support them through successful years of service.

Coco is currently recruiting for the 2016-17 VISTA cohort.  To learn more or to apply contact Coco directly, or find application and program information on our VISTA web page.

Coco can be reached at ecoco@phillipsfamilymn.org or 612-623-1652.
