The Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) announced today the election of Dion Warne to serve on the board of directors.
Dion Warne is the Senior Vice President of Home State Bank and a partner of Willmar Ten Investors. Warne resides in Pennock, MN with his wife, Laura and has four grown children. Dion is a current charter member of the Willmar Lakes Rotary and is on the Loan Committee of Prairieland EDC board. He has been a part of the Willmar Area Chamber of Commerce board, chair and board member of the Willmar Public Schools, president of the Calvary Lutheran Church Council and chair of the 2000 United Way Campaign. The Foundation is ecstatic to welcome Dion and his leadership to the Foundation table (pictured below).
In addition, the Foundation is excited to announce the election of Heather Thompson as the newly appointed chair, Wayne Nelson as vice-chair and Duaine Amundson as treasurer of the Willmar Area Community Foundation. Wayne Nelson was also elected to serve a third three-year term in addition to Jon Schmidt and Andy VanDerBill. Lastly, Andrew Lindquist was elected to serve a second three-year term.
The board of directors governs the Willmar Area Community Foundation, conducts development activities, approves grant decisions and works to engage people, connect resources and build community.
The Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local Willmar area. Since 1998, WACF has grown to over $24.6 million in assets and awarded nearly $10.8 million in grants to nonprofits. The WACF is governed by a local board of directors and is a partner of CommunityGiving, which is a collaborative of community foundations united under a single framework to create efficiencies that maximize the impact of our donors.
