Dawn Ganje Promoted to Senior Development Officer at Northwest Minnesota Foundation

Northwest Minnesota Foundation (NMF), a community foundation serving twelve northwestern Minnesota counties through programs that help the region be a better place to live and work, announces that Dawn Ganje has been promoted to Senior Development Officer.

Her responsibilities include helping to advance NMF’s mission by articulating the critical role of private philanthropy to the Foundation and the many opportunities for voluntary support in the life of the institution.  Ganje’s role will be to maximize financial gift support to NMF and its component and community funds by seeking contributions in order to enhance the quality of place in the 12-County region.

Ganje works from an office in Ada, MN to serve the western half of the NMF region and is responsible for administrative oversight of fund operations for the counties of Kittson, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, and Red Lake counties, and western Roseau County (Badger, Greenbush and Roseau). She will be providing donor services, fund development support and technical assistance to fund advisory committees.

NMF President Nancy Vyskocil stated, “Dawn has a natural talent for development. Her understanding of the strategic goals at NMF, her connections in the Red River Valley, and deep experience as a trainer for our community funds’ Sustaining Community Success program will be a great value to our donors and fund advisors.”

Ganje was promoted from the NMF Program Officer for Training position. Her responsibilities in that role are being reassigned.  Nate Dorr, program officer for grants will lead the new Vital Nonprofits program, along with other work Ganje covered within the agency, government and nonprofit sector, as well as individual leadership training opportunities. Youth programs (STAR- Students Teaching Attitudes of Respect) will be included in the work of a new full-time Program Specialist for Early Childhood and Youth. Vicky Grove, NMF’s current Early Childhood Initiative Specialist has announced her retirement in December 2016.  NMF is seeking applicants at this time.
