CommunityGiving Approves New Board Members for 2018-2019

CommunityGiving announced today the election of four new members to their board of directors.  New additions to the board include Brenda Jennissen, president/CEO of Felling Trailers in Sauk Centre, MN; Steve Peterson, former director of sustainable sourcing at General Mills from Paynesville, MN; Terry Tone, former administrator at Affiliated Community Medical Center from New London, MN; and John Herges, CEO of Falcon National Bank in St. Cloud, MN. Jennissen, Peterson and Tone were elected to serve a three-year term while Herges will serve a two-year term to complete the term of late Loran Hall. The board also approved the election of Bruce Pohlig to serve a second three-year term. Officers elected by the board are Bruce Pohlig, vice chair; James Ringwald, treasurer; and John Herges, Secretary. Jim Roelofs continues to serve as Board Chair.

The CommunityGiving Board of Directors is the policy-making body for CommunityGiving and supports all of the partner foundations including Alexandria, Brainerd, Central Minnesota (Greater St. Cloud) and Willmar.  It is also held responsible for all legal, financial, administrative, grantmaking, community service and fundraising activities of all partner foundations.

CommunityGiving is a collaboration of community foundations united under a single framework to create efficiencies that maximize the impact of our donors.  The core foundations working with CommunityGiving include the Alexandria Area Community Foundation, the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the Willmar Area Community Foundation.  Collectively, CommunityGiving administers more than 700 funds totaling more than $140 million and has granted over $106.2 million back into the community.
