The MCF board of directors are pleased to announce that Susie Brown will be the new President at MCF. Board Chair of MCF, Kim Borton said, "Her passion for serving members and her outstanding experience as a leader in Minnesota’s independent sector are the right combination to lead Minnesota philanthropy and our collective advancement of prosperity and equity across Minnesota."

When the executive search process for President began late last year, input from members, board, and staff was gathered. What the board heard was a wish for a leader with a passion for serving members in the philanthropic sector and a welcoming, inclusive style.  This person would be highly collaborative and would value each individual’s unique strengths. Susie is the perfect choice.

We know Susie appreciates Minnesota Council on Foundations’ important role both locally and nationally. She is excited about the possibility of working to grow the organization’s connection with its members and to enhance the high-quality services it provides. Her plan is to get off to a quick start to connect and learn from staff, members, board, staff, and community stakeholders about how we move MCF into its 50th year!

Susie comes to MCF having most recently served as the Chief Operations Officer at the newly merged Minnesota, Hennepin County and Ramsey Bar Associations and Foundations. Prior to the merger, she was the Executive Director at the Hennepin County Bar Association and Foundation.

Susie is not a stranger to MCF, having served on our Public Policy Committee during the years she was Public Policy Director at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.  Prior to joining MCN, she was Executive Director at Child Care Works. Susie is a lifelong learner who teaches nonprofit leadership and governance at Hamline University and participates in a variety of nonprofit organizations and boards. Susie will begin her work at MCF April 22.

Please join us in welcoming Susie to the MCF team!
