About May:
May is a change maker who enjoys bringing people together to build collective power and working towards equitable systemic change. She is a nature enthusiast and enjoys living a cruelty-free lifestyle. May has an excessive amount of plants and is always down for a round of karaoke. You can find her cooking, reading, or hanging out with her rabbits in her free time.

May’s work has been focused on advancing equity, and her experiences have been anchored in education, community engagement, and policy development. Her career began in working with youth of color on storytelling projects in refugee and immigrant communities. May continued to support students from diverse and first generation backgrounds at the college level through her roles as a researcher and advisor. Most recently, May directed statewide advocacy efforts and policy initiatives focused on closing the opportunity gap in Minnesota. This included issue-based community organizing efforts to advance solutions on issues prioritized by historically underrepresented college students and institutionalizing basic needs in higher education.
