PFund Foundation (PFund) is a regional grassroots community foundation committed to advancing LGBTQ equity through individual scholarships, organizational grantmaking, and leadership development. Our programming is core to our impact as the only LGBTQ grant-maker in the upper Midwest.

Director of Advancement Description:
PFund Foundation is looking for a dynamic person to focus on external engagement and fundraising.

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to develop a multi-year actionable fundraising plan to increase revenue for PFund Foundation’s annual fund and scholarship fund. Areas of focus for financial expansion include individual, corporate giving, and special events.
  • Support the Executive Director to raise funds for the multi-year $10 Million endowment campaign through major gifts, planned giving, and institutional gifts.
  • Work with key staff to conduct strategic communications to elevate PFund Foundation’s thought leadership, programs, and impact to engage diverse audiences.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Board and key staff on the production and fundraising efforts to execute the annual Moxie Awards and June-based Elevate Pride events.
  • Cultivate and grow membership of the Lavender Legacy League, a group of donors who have committed a legacy gift to PFund.
  • Work to identify foundation funding opportunities, cultivate relationships with program officers, and help lead messaging for donors, and funders.
  • Oversee the creation of an annual fundraising calendar, to include prospect research, donor cultivation, donor campaigns, grant submissions, and events. 
  • Oversee the creation of a communications calendar and protocols for content dissemination across multiple platforms, including website, social media platforms, email and public education and marketing materials.
  • Conceptualize and implement a corporate giving program that offers volunteer opportunities, in-kind support, corporate foundation grants, and corporate sponsorships of PFund events. 
  • Provide support to the Executive Director and board to make funding asks for major gifts.
  • Manage the Development Manager’s grant writing efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage PFund’s Development Committee.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience, including fundraising, communications, and leadership roles
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills – ability to communicate mission to funders, individual donors, and other stakeholders
  • Project management skills – stays on top of multiple projects, identifies deadlines and meets through careful planning, anticipates obstacles, identifies and involves staff appropriately
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Zoom, and Salesforce or another donor database
  • Ability to travel regionally on occasion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as build and maintain professional relationships 
  • Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership over goals
  • Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize accordingly
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with local and regional philanthropic individuals

Benefits and Additional Information:
Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 annually 
PTO: 28 days per year
Other Benefits: Medical, Dental, Retirement Account with 3% match
Exemption status: Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Direct Reports: Development Manager

PFund Foundation is a hybrid work environment, with up to 2 days/week in the office, located in the Twin Cities.
