Special Briefing with the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)

Thursday, September 2, 2021 11:00am - 12:00pm CDT

During the 2021 Legislative Session, the Legislature passed a biennial budget that provided increased funding and new programs at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). This included more than $70 million in direct appropriations and competitive programs for workforce development as well as $285 million in economic development resources. Many of these investments were made possible, in part, by federal dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act.

Please join DEED’s government relations director, Darielle Dannen, for an overview of the workforce training, jobs, small business, and unemployment policy and funding outcomes of the legislative session. If your organization is interested in economic development, technical assistance, workforce training, or just wants to stay up to date on the state’s investments in our communities and DEED’s grant programs, please join us for this briefing. The Minnesota Council on Foundations is co-hosting this joint briefing with the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and DEED.

Note: This meeting will take place via Zoom and a recording will be available to anyone registered.
