What role can philanthropy play in voter education? With three elections in MN in 2020, including the (new!) presidential primary, voter education is going to be more important than ever. In this meeting, we'll focus on voter education and the role that grantmakers can play in funding and encouraging voter education.  We plan to explore the role that the public sector plays in voter education, as well as how nonprofits and foundations can engage.

Nasser Mussa from the MN Secretary of State's office will provide the public sector perspective and Carrie Davis from the Joyce Foundation will share her perspectives on the role of funders in voter education.

This meeting is organized by MCF's Democracy Funders Working Group, which is focused on how grantmakers can have a strategic impact on strengthening democratic systems and civic engagement.

Video/Audio conference participation is available for this event through Go to Meeting. Please let us know by email if you will be participating by video/audio conference.
