Minnesota Food Funders Network: Discussion on Food Sovereignty

Tuesday, May 4, 2021 1:00pm - 2:30pm CDT

Join the Minnesota Food Funders Network (MFFN) for a conversation about what’s happening around the state regarding food sovereignty. MFFN is a group of Minnesota-based funders who make informed, coordinated and strategic investments to improve key facets of our food system. Our shared commitment to the vitality and prosperity of our state’s communities and resilience of our landscapes inspire us to work together.

Meeting Themes:

  • Learn about the concept of food sovereignty in various community contexts in Minnesota.
  • Consider how food sovereignty can increase access to healthy food, support greater racial equity and improve economic stability.
  • Envision how philanthropy can partner with communities to achieve greater food sovereignty.

Presenters will include Jamie Adams, Economic Development Planner, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa; Neely Snyder, Executive Director, Dream of Wild Health and LeAnn Littlewolf, Senior Program Officer, Maada’ookiing, Northland Foundation who will talk about food sovereignty work at AICHO (American Indian Community Housing Organization).

This conversation is open to all MFFN members and MCF members interested in issues of food and food funding. Log-in details will be provided in your confirmation email. MCF members may log-in and register. Non-member food funders may reach out to Paul Masiarchin to register.
