Minnesota Census Mobilization Partnership - Quarterly Meeting

07Dec2018
DATE & TIME:
Friday, December 7, 2018 10:00am - 12:30pm CST
LOCATION:
2180 North Hamline Avenue - Roseville, MN

MEETING AGENDA IS NOW POSTED.  See below.

Find out how we can most effectively engage Minnesota's historically undercounted communities in the 2020 Census. Be the first to hear what's in the Minnesota census communication and organizing plan that was developed over the past year by a network of well-connected community organizers.

The plan will help you understand what connects different communities to the census, their concerns, and how to best communicate and organize to make sure Minnesota's census is fully-inclusive and accurate. Representatives from the group that hosted 20 listening sessions around the state to engage communities as co-creators of this census communication and organizing plan for Minnesota will be presenting, along with the project consultants from Grassroots Solutions. The plan was developed with support from Bush Foundation, Blandin Foundation, and other donors.

Also at this meeting, you'll have a chance to help shape the Partnership's plan for securing state funding and policy changes from the new legislature and governor, and to comment on the proposal for how the Partnership is going to organize resources for special outreach to historically undercounted communities.

As usual, you will also get updates about what's happening with census funding, policy and politics in DC, including efforts to stop the citizenship question, as well as updates about the State's efforts to make sure every Minnesotan is counted.

Register now to participate in this meeting, either in person or by audio/video conference.  The meeting is from 10 am to 12:30 pm and will be followed by lunch and time to network.  Your registration helps us plan for lunch and accommodations for those participating by phone or video conference. The Minnesota Census Mobilization Partnership is a network of individuals and groups working together to ensure that Minnesota has a fully-inclusive, nonpartisan, and accurate census in 2020.  We secure and organize resources to ensure full participation by historically undercounted communities, manage special projects to help community and public partners take advantage unique opportunities to make the census work better in Minnesota, and advocate at the federal and state levels for funding and policies to ensure a successful 2020 census. Connect with the Partnership through Facebook and Twitter.
