Dr. Michael Osterholm Discusses Pandemic Recovery

On June 4, our MCF All-Member Call will provide an opportunity to talk with Dr. Michael Osterholm, an internationally renowned infectious disease epidemiologist and director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. During this MCF members-only call, we will hear Dr. Osterholm’s considerations for the philanthropic role in supporting pandemic response and recovery. And we’ll dig into his understanding of ways our community will change as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. This conversation will be hosted by Susie Brown, MCF President.

Michael Osterholm has been one of the nation’s go-to experts about coronavirus and is quoted regularly by the media and public officials. In May, Dr. Osterholm advised, “I worry that people are taking this situation now as if we're just about over the hump, we're just about done, we'll get over this curb, we'll get to summer, everything will quiet down...But we're just in the second inning of a nine inning game." Join this conversation to understand how a long-game pandemic recovery will change our communities for years to come.

MCF hosts regular members-only calls for the purpose of sharing best practices, understanding community needs, and considering ways we can work together in this unprecedented time. Bring your questions and ideas to share. This is an MCF-members only event. Call-in details will be in your confirmation email.
