Policies and laws constantly affect the work of philanthropists and grantmakers, making a solid grounding in the key rules critical to carrying out the work effectively. Join us as we discuss the fundamentals for foundations, the different types of foundations and public charities, as well as current issues involving donor-advised funds, PRIs and other alternatives to grantmaking, fiscal sponsorships, grants to individuals, and building equity into grantmaking programs. This training program is developed for anyone interested in understanding the laws affecting grantmaking, including foundation staff, trustees and others involved in making charitable grants in Minnesota.
Presenters: Catie Bitzan Amundsen, Partner and Greg Larson, Partner, Lathrop GPM LLP
