Ten Investing Considerations for 2020 and Beyond

Our conversation topic for June will be led by Jeremy Gogos, PhD, CFA, Portfolio Manager, Securian Asset Management. As the investment manager for institutional portfolios, including the Securian Foundation, the presenters will discuss ten investment topics they believe should be on every nonprofit investor's radar for 2020 and beyond. These topics will be focused on institutional investing for foundations and other grantmaking institutions. The presenters will cover market innovations, structural changes, and trends that could affect your organization's portfolio, whether that portfolio has only cash and cash equivalents, or it has a litany of long-term investments allocated across myriad asset classes.

The presenters will cover topics in three broad areas: cash & short-term investing, the future of interest rates & its implications for portfolio yield, and equity investing's innovations and challenges. After attending, participants should have one or two pieces of new knowledge in each of these three areas that they can discuss with their peers, investment consultants, asset managers, etc.

The Finance & Operations Network is a peer network for MCF members who do primarily internally focused work such as finance, operations, HR, and IT to support foundation success and effectiveness.
