Ending Homelessness in Minnesota: Imperative and Possible

Friday, April 13, 2018
1:30pm - 4:00pm CDT
Sunrise Banks Headquarters, 2525 Wabash Avenue, St. Paul, MN

The Heading Home Minnesota Funders Collaborative and the Minnesota Council on Foundations invite you to this joint issue briefing for funders who want to help achieve greater housing stability throughout Minnesota. Housing stability is at the intersection of so many variables that lead to an individual or family’s success: positive health outcomes, educational success, job security, and much more.

 Join our distinguished presenters:

  • Mary Tingerthal, Commissioner of Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, will present an overview of the current state of homelessness in our state, important trends, where progress has been made and where more work is needed.
  • Amanda Misiko Andere, CEO of Funders Together to End Homelessness, based in Boston, MA will bring a national perspective the issue and share her knowledge of how funders from around the country are working to increase housing stability—an issue that is core to the success of so many philanthropic initiatives.
  • Expert Panel Discussion: A panel of expert practitioners, policy makers and funder representatives working throughout Minnesota will shine light on the core, common ingredients needed to prevent and end homelessness and the importance of multi-sector strategies that lead to success.

The day will end with an overview of the new statewide, multi-sector plan to prevent and end homelessness: Heading Home Together.  This exciting vision for philanthropy's role at a more collaborative table is being crafted and needs your input!

If your foundation is working to reduce educational disparities, achieve greater equity, increase economic self-sufficiency, improve health outcomes and related issues you won’t want to miss this briefing.

Social Hour to follow (4-5pm) at Dual Citizen Brewing Company, 725 Raymond Avenue, St. Paul with light food from the Naughty Greek!

If you a non-MCF member funder and would like to attend this briefing, please contact Brianna Kocka at bkocka@mcf.org to register. This is a funder-only event.
