MCF is committed to a fully-inclusive, fair (no politics!), and accurate census count in 2020. One part of achieving that goal is to make sure we effectively communicate with and engage those who identify with historically undercounted communities. MCF is working in partnership with a national network of grantmakers and PSOs (philanthropy serving organizations) to conduct research to identify messages that resonate with historically undercounted communities.
In this webinar, you will learn from new research about how to effectively communicate about the census and engagement strategies to involve Black communities in the 2020 Census. Presenting will be Arisha Hatch, campaigns manager at Color of Change. Karen Narasaki with The Bauman Foundation and Democracy Funders Collaborative Census Subgroup will facilitate the session.
This is the first webinar in a three-part webinar series sharing research to guide communication about the 2020 Cenus in communities of color. The next webinars will be on September 12 (featuring communication in Latino communities) and September 20 (featuring communication in Asian and Pacific Islander communities).
These webinars and free and open to grantmakers and community partners who are working to achieve a fully inclusive and accurate 2020 census. However, registration is required.
Registration for this webinar is being handled through the Funders Committee for Civic Participation.
