Description: Join us for a meeting of the Corporate Community Affairs Professionals Network where we’ll focus on the future of work and workforce development.  This topic stems from a June conversation with corporate philanthropy leaders about future trends; most of the group was particularly interested in the future of work and the workforce. As corporations, many of you invest in workforce development through your giving, and many of you think about it in terms of employee recruitment, retention, and engagement.

This meeting is an opportunity to dig into the current state of the workforce, to learn about what will be needed in the near and longer-term future, and to explore successful workforce development strategies. Bryan Lindsley, Executive Director of the Minneapolis St. Paul Regional Workforce Innovation Network (MSPWIN), will share his insights on the state's changing demographics and workforce needs as well as highlight best practices for workforce development programs. Attendees are encouraged to read a short Forbes article about the future of work prior to the meeting so that we can bring trends like automation and contingent work into the conversation. Byran's remarks coupled with the article are meant to spark a group conversation on this topic, with plenty of time to ask questions and share how you are thinking about this in the context of your organization.

This network is for MCF members who work in corporate philanthropy and are interested in discussing the unique issues and opportunities of corporate grantmaking. Corporate Community Affairs Professionals Network meetings generally take the form of informal learning from one another around a pre-determined discussion topic, with space on the agenda for updates and other timely discussion. This is a member-only meeting.

Breakfast, coffee and tea will be provided at the meeting.
