Collaboration Successes: Independent Community Foundations and Initiative Foundations Working Together

Natural disasters, economic development opportunities, adapting community services for changing populations, or cultivating civic leadership; collaboration is key to tackling big problems or big opportunities. Executive leaders from Minnesota’s independent community foundations and initiative foundations are coming together to share what they have learned about effective collaborations, and to create connections to inspire collaborative actions.

The general schedule for the day includes:

  • 10 am to Noon – Learning about successful collaborations and each other’s priorities
  • Noon to 12:30 pm – Lunch 
  • 12:30 to 4:30 pm – Exploring examples of effective collaborations between community foundations and initiative foundations
  • 4:30 to 6:30 pm - Break
  • 6:30 to 8:30 pm – Dinner at local restaurant

This event is limited participation by executive level initiative foundation staff and executive or senior level staff from community foundations eligible for membership in the Midwest Independent Community Foundations Network. All meals are included in the event registration.

The event occurs the day before MCF’s annual conference on January 17 and 18 which is also at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest. Register now for MCF’s conference

If you require lodging Wednesday evening, January 16 you can stay at the Marriott and get the MCF conference rate of $129.00 per night. Lodging is not included in the registration fee for this event. Contact the hotel directly to make lodging arrangements.

We will car pool to a local restaurant for dinner.

This event is being organized by the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, Initiative Foundation and Southwest Initiative Foundation, in coordination with the Midwest Independent Community Foundations Network.
