MCF's CEO Chat is a new series that connects nonprofit partners with the presidents or senior leaders of Minnesota’s philanthropic organizations. Nonprofit staff and board members are invited to sign up for these free, virtual conversations.

During each CEO Chat, attendees will have an opportunity to meet the foundation leader, and learn about the foundation’s  priorities and strategic decisions. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions in this discussion facilitated by MCF President Susie Brown. We hope you’ll join us for candid conversation about many of the pressing issues and challenges facing Minnesota’s nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.

CEO Chats are open to nonprofit staff and board members; pre-registration is required. Log-in details will be provided in your confirmation email. The meetings are not intended for MCF members. Contact Josh Vang, MCF’s Member Services Manager, for additional information at jvang@mcf.org.

Our December 16 conversation features Susan Bass Roberts, Vice President & Executive Director, Pohlad Family Foundation. The Pohlad Family Foundation funds organizations and projects focused on housing stability and racial justice in the 7-county Twin Cities metro area. Susan joined the Pohlad Family Foundation as vice president and executive director in 2016. She leads the Foundation’s overall strategic direction and works directly with the Pohlad family to ensure their philanthropic vision is realized.

Susan brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in philanthropy, community relations and communications. Previously, she served as executive director of the Best Buy Foundation, vice president of communications and community relations for the Atlanta Falcons Football Club, director of community affairs and philanthropy with the Limited Foundation, and owner of a boutique agency specializing in foundation management and public relations for sports professionals. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations from The Ohio State University. She has a long history of community involvement and currently serves on the boards of Breck School and Funders Together to End Homelessness.
