MCF Privacy Statement
The Minnesota Council on Foundations
("MCF") has a goal of maintaining high standards for the
protection of privacy over the Internet. The purpose of this privacy
statement ("Privacy Statement") is to explain in a general
manner MCF's policies with respect to the types of information MCF obtains
about visitors to MCF's publicly-accessible Websites (collectively and
individually, "MCF Websites") and how such information is used,
and to confirm your consent to such policies and practices. Please note
that this Privacy Statement does not apply to the access to or use of
Websites controlled or operated by MCF that are not available publicly (e.g.,
sites that must be accessed via a password and user I.D.), nor does this
Privacy Statement apply to information collected by other sources or that
is conspicuously submitted to MCF or any third parties.
This Privacy Statement is part of, governed
by and subject to the Terms and Conditions for the use of MCF Websites
that may be accessed at
www.mcf.org/terms.htm.
By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you are consenting to the
collection, use and disclosure of information and data about you and your
use of MCF Websites. Your continued use of any MCF Website constitutes
your continuing consent to the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy
Statement.
MCF does not knowingly collect personal
data from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen,
please do not give us any personal data. If you have reason to believe
that a child has provided personal data to MCF, please contact us at
info@mcf.org,
and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.
To gauge the effectiveness of the MCF
Websites and MCF's services, to help MCF make efficient use of and
improvements to MCF Websites and MCF's services, to help understand MCF's
users and for other purposes, MCF collects certain non-personally
identifiable information about visitors that does not reveal a visitor's
identity. For example (and without limitation), MCF's Web server
automatically recognizes a visitor's domain name (such as .com, .edu,
etc.), the Web page from which a visitor enters an MCF Website, which Web
pages a visitor visits on MCF Websites and how much time a visitor spends
on each Web page at an MCF Website. MCF may, in MCF's sole discretion,
use this information in a non-personally identifiable form or aggregate
this information and use it for any purpose.
MCF's policy is not to sell or disclose
personally-identifiable information obtained online about our visitors to
anyone outside of MCF unless specifically authorized to do so by such
visitors, required by law or if such disclosure is, in MCF's sole
judgment, reasonably necessary to protect the safety of persons or
property. MCF reserves the right to sell, assign or transfer any and all
personally-identifiable information collected via MCF Websites to any
entity or individual in connection with any change in control,
reorganization, sale, merger or transfer of MCF or all or substantially
all of MCF's assets.
MCF policy is not to send unsolicited
"junk" or "spam" e-mail. If you receive an unwanted
e-mail from MCF, please simply send MCF an e-mail asking MCF not to send
you future e-mails, and MCF will take reasonable steps in order to avoid
sending such unwanted emails in the future.
This Privacy Statement applies only to MCF
Websites. MCF Websites may contain direct and indirect links to other
Websites, which MCF provides for your reference and convenience only. Any
links to other Websites provided on an MCF Website do not imply on
behalf of MCF any endorsement of the activities of or any association with
any such Websites or the respective operators thereof. MCF does not
control and is not responsible for the content of or the privacy practices
employed by any other Websites or the respective operators thereof.
To improve the services MCF can offer, MCF
may opt to expand its capabilities for obtaining information about MCF
Websites' visitors in the future. MCF may revise or update this Privacy
Statement to ensure that you are aware of developments in this area, and
MCF recommends that you periodically check this Privacy Statement to view
any such revisions or updates. Your continued use of any MCF Website will
be subject to the revised Privacy Statement (to the extent not otherwise
subject to other agreements between you and MCF).
If you have any questions about this
Privacy Statement or concerns about the way MCF processes your personal
data, please contact us at
info@mcf.org.
